HOP Lawn Maintenance Laborer

Part time/Casual 3 – 9 hours Bi-weekly as needed (June 1 to September 1) Wage $17.25/hr

 

Responsibilities

•Mow turf areas of HOP facility using riding or push mower

•Trim, and rake all areas inside and outside of fenced area

•Maintain landscape plantings and clean up hazard trees

•Plant, fertilizer and pesticide application on a periodic basis as needed

•Operate power tools, hand tools or riding equipment while using proper personal protective equipment

•Hand rake, sweep paths and other areas needed

•Follow all community and pool safety policies

•Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies,

•Must provide Steel-toed safety boots

Skills

•Machine operating experience: lawn care equipment, small engine repair

•CPR and First Aid Certificates an asset

•WHIMIS 2015 required

•Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

•Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision

•Values, ethics, flexibility and reliability

•Excellent oral communication

Work Conditions

•Various locations Work Site Environment (hall for equipment storage, pool worksite)

•Outdoors, Non-smoking

•Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks

•Some contact with materials needing special handling (gas, oil, fertilizer, pesticide etc)

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Sitting, walking, standing, bending/reaching, pushing, and physical effort: required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Reports To – the pool manager
